Come, Thou Fount of Every Blessing...

Here are the third and fourth stanzas of this classic hymn:
(Be sure and read the story that follows.)

Come, Thou fount of every blessing,
Tune my heart to sing Thy grace;
Streams of mercy, never ceasing,
Call for songs of loudest praise.
Teach me some melodious sonnet,
Sung by flaming tongues above.
Praise the mount! I'm fixed upon it,
Mount of Thy redeeming love.

O to grace how great a debtor
Daily I'm constrained to be!
Let Thy goodness, like a fetter,
Bind my wandering heart to Thee.
Prone to wander, Lord, I feel it,
Prone to leave the God I love;
Here's my heart, Lord take and seal it
Seal it for Thy courts above.

*This song was written by Robert Robinson in 1758. My pastor told the story this morning of how this man, after writing many hymns, fell away from God. One day he heard a lady humming the tune to this song. She was humming the fourth stanza: "Prone to wander, Lord I feel it, Prone to leave the God I love." When she asked him if he had heard the song, Robert Robinson broke into tears in telling her that he had written the words to this hymn.

Our pastor's message was to say that we should never feel that we are exempt from falling into a deep path of sin. We ALL must use the spiritual tools we are given to bind us against Satan's attacks.

Coincidentally, I heard the hymn again this afternoon on WMHK while driving in the car. It was by a contemporary christian artist...now after hearing the story in church, the song takes on a deeper, greater meaning to me.

107.5 "The Show" broadcasting from Taylor's Quality Landscape Supply!

We had so much fun tonight at Gerrick's business! He decided to get "The Show" broadcasted live from Taylor's. We had several friends come by and show their support as well as customers taking advantage of the discounts! Trace absolutely loved having all his friends stop by to play on the playsets!

Our Summer Vacation

Gerrick closed the business for a week for our family to take a much needed vacation! We had a great time at his parents place near Destin, FL. We loved walking the streets in Rosemary Beach, playing in the "big pool", hanging out with Gerrick's Grandma and family, and playing with Trace's cousin, Caroline. A highlight of the week was that Trace can now swim on his own (with a floatie, of course) but we're thrilled that he is no longer hanging on to me waist and terrified. He actually loves jumping in the pool ALL BY HIMSELF and putting his head under...YEAH!!! These are just a few highlights from the week.

First pictures with our new camera!

After lots of price shopping and thought, we finally broke down and bought a new camera. We couldn't be happier with the results! These were shots from just playing around the house today.

Weekend fun

Best Friends

Teething!

Peek-a-boo!

Yes, this is my SON! I'll explain in the paragraph below!

I haven't blogged lately...no major events, vacations, etc. taking place...just enjoying the summer. We have been on the boat several times lately, most recently on Friday night with Luke and Alecia. Being the forgetful one, I forgot my camera...luckily the Clamp's had theirs-so once I get the pics from Alecia, I'll upload our fun evening of hanging out on the boat, wakeboarding and skiing. Trace LOVES the boat! He is just like his daddy...as Gerrick says "I feel so relaxed when I'm in the boat on the water"...I think Trace feels the same way.

These are pictures from the weekend. On Saturday when the kids were waking up from naps...Trace woke up first, then I heard Anna Kate as I was changing Trace's diaper. We took off into Anna Kate's room...Trace wanted to be the first to say "hello", so he climbed up and peered into the crib. He then decided he wanted to join her for a little bit of play time!

The other pictures were from Sunday night. We were rushing getting Trace bathed, and I don't like for him to go to bed with his hair wet, so I took him into my bathroom to dry it. He then found one of my hair clips and asked me to put it in his hair...his new hairdo is the end result!

Happy 4th of July!!!

We hope you all had a great 4th! We spent the holiday with Gerrick's family in Darien, GA. There were a TON of family present-what a blessing! Gerrick and I counted everyone that attended and it totalled 38 people! Gerrick's Aunt Chris and her husband, Rodney, have a condo in Darien, GA. Some people stayed there while the bulk of us took over the Comfort Inn in Darien. Gerrick's mom spent the morning of the 4th decorating a pavilion that we rented for our cookout. Uncle Rodney cooked a pig, and we had all the sides. Aunt Chris dressed up for the occasion and Gerrick and I served sno-cones for the kids. Of course there were plenty of adult treats to go around-including homeade peach and chocolate ice cream!!! It was so great to catch up with those that we haven't seen in a while and see how we have all multiplied! It's also great to see Trace play with his many cousins!!! He had a blast.

Happy 4th everyone!
